Biodiversity Research Institute (BRI), a nonprofit ecological research group based in Portland, Maine, conducts innovative wildlife science worldwide. BRI’s mission is to assess emerging threats to wildlife and ecosystems through collaborative research and to use scientific findings to advance environmental awareness and inform decision makers. An important part of BRI’s mission is to share the knowledge our biologists gain from their scientific research. BRI regularly works with federal (Department of Defense and Department of the Interior) and state partners on projects with regulatory requirements related to renewable energy, endangered and threatened species presence (especially on military bases), and contaminants. BRI joined the NAC CESU in 2012.
