The Gulf of Maine Research Institute (GMRI) is an independent, objective, 501(c)(3) non-profit
organization dedicated to the resilience of the Gulf of Maine ecosystem and the communities that
depend on it. GMRI adopts an interdisciplinary approach combining world-class marine research
with robust community and education programming to understand how natural, social, and
economic systems interact, with the aim to fulfill our mission: develop and deliver collaborative
solutions to global ocean challenges. Each year, we serve more than 25,000 stakeholders
throughout the Gulf of Maine, from Cape Cod to Nova Scotia, to ensure that our region can thrive
in a warming, changing world.
