Native Plant Trust (NPT) was founded in 1900 as the nation’s first plant conservation organization, focused entirely on the native plants of New England. Today, NPT is still a national leader in plant conservation, horticulture, and education. Based in Massachusetts, their dedicated staff members and extensive network of trained volunteers work to: monitor, protect, and restore rare and endangered plants; collect and bank seeds for biological diversity; detect and control invasive species; conduct botanical and horticultural research; and educate the public, from home gardeners to professional land managers. Native Plant Trust joined the North Atlantic Coast CESU in 2024.
Native Plant Trust offers the following areas of expertise:
- Saving Imperiled Plants
- Conserving and Restoring Habitats
- Controlling Invasives
- Banking Seeds
- Adapting to Climate Change
- Ecological Gardening
