
Woodwell Climate Research Center, located in Falmouth, MA, is an independent science-driven 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with approximately 140 employees. Our workforce is split almost evenly between on-site employees and remote employees, who are distributed around the globe. Originally founded as the Woods Hole Research Center in 1985 by George Woodwell, we have a track record of partnering with a global network of communities and leaders for just, meaningful impact to address the climate crisis. Our mission is to conduct science for solutions at the nexus of climate, people, and nature. Importantly, we strive for our science to have a meaningful impact on the climate crisis. Through our rigorous research and innovative partnership model, we have developed a decades-long legacy of leadership in climate science, policy, and education.
